More and more visitors are curious to discover its cultural and gastronomic richness which, of course, is something to boast about.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The beaches, the flora, the fauna and the climate are the cornerstones of the northern coast of Catalonia in its consolidation as one of the <strong>holiday destinations par excellence<\/strong> in all of Europe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Below, we review three places whose importance is only comparable to their value. They foster a <strong>love of nature<\/strong> and allow us to understand the scale of the natural resources, as well as the beauty of their landscapes, which have nothing to envy of the most exotic destinations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">The Medes Islands<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Medes archipelago in L&#8217;Estartit has seven islets. It is one of the most important marine flora and fauna reserves in the Mediterranean and a place of great value for diving lovers. For 20 years, the protection work carried out has allowed a recovery of the richness of its seabed, aquatic environment and terrestrial environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">You can discover them by travelling aboard the glass-bottom boats offered in the area. You can also carry out a large number of nautical and underwater activities in line with the regulations regarding the preservation of this natural space.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">The Montgr\u00ed<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Montgr\u00ed massif is located between the Baix and Alt Empord\u00e0. Its views are unbeatable: you can see a great panorama from the Canig\u00f3, passing through the Bay of Roses and the Sierra de Rodes, the coast of L&#8217;Estartit and the Medes Islands, and even the plain and the mouth of the Ter river.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Along the way, you will find a great variety of protected flora, ruined hermitages, dunes and paths. It is an excellent unspoilt space, which makes it an element that revalues this environment.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">Les Gavarres<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Les Gavarres massif lies between the regions of Baix Empord\u00e0 and Giron\u00e8s. It covers a large area and a good number of municipalities: Castell d&#8217;Aro, Calonge, Monells, Forallac, La Bisbal, Palafrugell, Palam\u00f3s, Girona, Madremanya or Llagostera, among others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Its intense dark green forest is home to a great diversity of vertebrate and invertebrate fauna. The wetlands are inhabited by amphibians; we also find birds and birds of prey, such as the robin or the sparrowhawk. Nor are holm oaks, cork oaks or stone pines lacking.
